The new Power dressing code for women, informed, minimal and sophisticated, Meher S Ahmed shows us the way with her unique personality and style. Black and white, is almost serious and Formal and yet absolutely modern and elegant.
Meher S Ahmed
We love the her naturally textured hair, almost framing her face and adds a lot of character to her personality.
Meher S Ahmed
Meher wears this full length high-waisted skirt in black-n-white pinstripes paired with a crisp white casual shirt tucked in. A black leather tote, black n tan strappy sandals and a pair of Ray Ban clubmaster sunglasses that we totally dig! complete her look. Her long multi-charm neckpiece adds to her feminine grace.
Meher S Ahmed
The Pinstripes have been a favorite board-room staple and having more than usual masculine association. Its refreshing to see a skirt in it that almost manages to keep its associations, except this time its all, a 100% feminine!

Yes Folks its that time of the year again.
Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014
opened in great style with the spectacular dual shows presented by DHL
featuring the collections of the very talented Masaba Gupta and avant garde
designer Amit Aggarwal. Colours of DHL were cleverly brought into the
collections by both the designers who revealed their latest line of garments to
a very appreciative audience.
AMIT
AGGARWAL – FASHION’S ULTRA GLAM DESIGNER
Amit Aggarwal’s debut show at Lakmé Fashion
Week Winter/Festive 2013 was the most widely praised event last season. His
exclusive futuristic gowns and experiments with the 21st century
look for the sari and choli drew applause from fashion lovers.
Amit Aggarwal
Adding further highlights to the collection
was the specially crafted jewellery. Giant intricately crafted ear flaps and striped
hair pieces perched at the back of the models’ heads complemented the garments
in an innovative manner.
Amit Aggarwal
Pleats played an important role, while a clever play
of sheer and opaque metallic shimmer gave the creations a sexy seductive feel.
Lattice work, laser cutting for wide peplums and intricately crafted flared
skirts were a breathtaking part of the show.
Amit Aggarwal
His showstopper was the very regal,
gorgeous, Sushmita Sen, Miss Universe 1994 who was a grand end to the show as
she glided in a black, striped, fitted, draped gown.
When women want to make a sensational
entrance and are daring and bold to carry off strong crafted ensembles, Amit
Aggarwal’s creations will have the perfect impact on the gathering.

MASABA
GUPTA – FOR THE FREE SPIRITED WOMAN
The name Masaba Gupta conjures up visions
of collections that are feisty, free and fashionable. Star winner of the Gen
Next designer show in 2009, Masaba’s rise up the fashion ladder has been
phenomenal. Her collection “Wanderess” inspired by renowned poet Roman Payne’s
character Saskia, had all the characteristic touches that the young designer
lavishes on her garments.
Masaba Gupta
Masaba Gupta
For a show stopping entry, it had to be
Shilpa Shetty in a slinky black printed cut-out gown with an attached dupatta
drape – just the right addition for a beach time soirée
Masaba Gupta
Touches of Goa appeared in the form of geometric
leaves and flowers print for loose beach covers over white bikini. Saris with
the characteristic Masaba prints in white, brown, black and yellow were teamed
with long sleeved black/white leaf print blouse. Flared minis in beige, slinky
gowns with multi prints, long sleeved, thigh length jacket with flared pants
and cut-out sari gown, brought the mood of the fun times of the 1960s. Trapeze
printed top with bell sleeves, attached dupattas for skirts, bell bottom style
shararas, long sleeved tail-coat cholis with printed saris and drop waist will-power
maxi added to the options that Masaba offered.
When it comes to garments that leave a
lasting impression on the audience, Masaba Gupta’s “Wanderess” collection will
once again create waves in fashion circles.

Boho state of mind
Karishma Shahani appeared to be just as rooted in her choice of attire as her last presentation at LIFW(see it here). This new designer on the block has every bit of Indian essence ingrained in her aesthetics and every bit young that we are as a nation. Guess we too are inspired by the PM's speech on our 68th Independence Day.
As we look back, our last few posts have been bohemian inspired looks and wonder if it reflects the state of mind.
Karishma Shahani
Karishma pairs a white full sleeved scoop neck Jacket in ombre dyed shade of pink with a black maxi dress, a Tibetan beaded choker and versatile bright loafers.
Karishma Shahani
All set for a long day with an energy drink (almost seems like an accessory), the gold coin purse and the citrus colour covered phone add to the enigma of this boho girl.
Karishma Shahani
A Long gilet/jacket may seem like a non-essential, but we bet you’ll be surprised by its versatility. Team it up with jeans, shorts or jeggings and it can instantly prep up a look, take it up a few notches.
On another exciting front, Lakme India Fashion Week - Winter Festive 2014 is about to commence and we shall do our best to bring you the best dressed. Follow us on Instagram to stay updated!

The traveller
Jagvir Matharoo never seizes to amaze with his sartorial choices of clothing. Jagvir in an adaptation of japanese traditional costume made our heads turn when we spotted him in a well put together bohemian avatar. Its rare to witness men stepping out of their comfort zone and embracing newer silhouettes with such ease and panache. Applaud!
Jagvir Matharoo
Jagvir layers a vintage silk kimono and gives it a great modern spin by pairing it with a grey melange tee and an almost Japanese inspired bird print soft pants in powder blue.
Jagvir Matharoo
The headband is another quirky accessory that adds Jagvir's bold choice of attire. He gives us a rare UNISEX look that's so perfect for Him & Her; and currently a rage!
Jagvir Matharoo
The messenger leather bag in brown and a pair of strap sandals add to a much needed subdued colour pop.
Jagvir Matharoo
We are in love with his silver chain and bracelets; nothing defines a traveller more than his momentos carefully stacked with much pride and memories.

A Regal Bohemian
"It is only when you are totally secure with your traditionalism that you can be truly modern" said Sangita Sinh Kathiwada. These words struck a chord with us when we spotted her dressed in a black n white bohemian ensemble that modern enough to make heads turn in admiration in Milan or Paris, at the same get familiar nonchalant looks on the streets of Kutchch or Kathiawad.
Sangita Sinh Kathiwada
Sangita, a heiress to a princely Rajput state, yes she married a PRINCE!, dons many hats. She provided the Indian designers with one of the first platforms to sell their wares at Melange' more than 20 years ago. As a director of Morarka Cultural Centre for NCPA she is consumed in bringing about synergy between the rural craftsmen and the urban designers. See their last LIFW presentation HERE. This is just about the beginning of the list of roles Sangita finds herself passionately juggling.
Sangita Sinh Kathiwada
Sangita wears a top in white with a silhouette inspired from the traditional Gujarati version and pairs it up with comfortable Harem pants in black. We love her choice of accessories a chunky gunmetal neck-piece and a looped string sling in red! A pair of black rimmed glasses and comfortable walking shoes complete her Regal Bohemian look.

A Timeless Style Statement
Pranav Kirti Mishra has been walking the fashion corridors making quite a statement with his unique modern-Maharishi full grown mo-beard look and his impeccably tailored with a dash of quirk attire for a while. The founder behind the clothing label Huemn along with Shyama Shetty; is a designer, a poet and models when he wishes to.
Full facial hair on men has been gaining unprecedented acceptance as the In look for the modern gent globally....most visible in the United Kingdom, we believe. It does add a lot of depth to your personality and character, whether it suits you or not, a quick opinion poll with your best buds would get you your answer.
Pranav Mishra
Pranav wears a 2BSB suit in navy, the fit of which can only be achieved by custom tailoring. He pairs it up with a grand-dad collar shirt in a pale pastel blue and patent leather dress shoes in black.
Pranav Mishra
With this minimal and modern outfit Pranav definitely adds a lot to the look simply by his emphatic personality......a look that seems seeped in Heritage and flushed with Modernity at the same timeless!

Perfect Simplicity
When creativity meets simplicity in Fashion, we call it Elegance!
Sweta cuts such a figure of pristine elegance with the pieces that she puts together, that made us go wow!
Maxi skirts are spot on for the season and so is a sporty low cut-back jersey T. We love the play of blocked colors with fuschia and grey and accented by brown, black and gold.
Sweta Wagh
Sweta wears a maxi skirt in fuschia pink to which she gives her own sartorial twist by knotting it up above the knee in almost a draped to perfection silhouette that we totally dig. She pairs it up with a low-cut back grey melange T in fluid viscose and brown suede pumps.
Sweta Wagh
Her skin colored clutch with a gold monogram and black leather trims, gold metal knotted in black chords neckpiece, a gold watch and we're guessing a pair of Burberry shades make a perfect accessory set to add the golden touch to her look.
Sweta Wagh
Sweta wears this sans make-up minimal look with her fringed-in-the-front and knotted-up at the top hair, just a hint of pink on her lips with great effect. She sure has got us knotted up with her individual style....go on....get KNOTTY with it!
