Five days Five Looks One Pal - Parfum Dellic Day 1

Monday 30 June 2014

Introducing Parfum Dellic for my five days five looks one pal series. Parfum was fun shoot with; effervescent, energetic and enthusiastic.

Ready to walk in style for a meeting at work Parfum pairs his black check tee with green cast denims; he brings in sophistication and formal tone with a textured custom jacket. A pair of brogues to match the denims; leather bag and tousled hair to finish his Savvy sartorial work wear.

Work wear recently has started being more about being a personal style statement rather than a crisp suit and tie affair and we are digging Parfum's ultimate style statement.

Parfum Dellic is fashion designer by profession; the name is inspired by his love for perfumes.

Street Style Diaries - Nayaab Randhawa

Minimal look for maximum impact

Is it just being on trend makes someone stand out or is it the person wearing it? A great conversation starter or an incessant question mark? People create trends, period! And we have proof.

Nayaab shows us how to do a minimal look for maximum impact. The unexpected pairing of windowpane print shorts teamed up with crop top sans accessories hits a home run. Adding more surprise elements are the leopard print loafers and an oh so on trend colour Orange cross body bag. We love the fact that she chose different hues, patterns and brought them all together with a black casual jacket.

A rare combination of edgy and elegant, Nayaab you scored a big goal err.. round of applause.(World cup fever anyone??)

Soso On the Street

The one great thing about blogging street style is discovering people with an individual sense of style, capturing them and soak in a bit of their shining personalities. Sometimes its just not clothes; its their aura and personality that draws us to them. Meet Soso, a brave girl walking back from work,(she tends the bar at The Veda at Palladium) with the coolest hair do I have seen in a while on Women; alone at almost midnight. Couldn't help stopping her; she graciously smiled, posed after a hard day's work. Kudos to you Soso. Girl power!1

P.S- Love the ear piercings and strong eyeliner.

Street Style Diaries Mumbai- Nathaniel W Rynjah

Mixing patterns is an art form. Blessed are the ones who can mix and match and carry off the look without a second thought. General Idea, D&G, Louis Vuitton, Etro Menswear have this trend featuring in their look books since  2012. The trend is finally catching on.

Nathaniel here captures the trend while adding a melange layered tee upping style quotient. He teamed a Kurta in hand-loom from Meghalaya with a minimal geometric print pants finishing the look with Roman inspired sandals in tan.A gold watch adds to the sophistication.

Its a perfect Indian take on the modern trend.

Nathaniel W Rynjah is co-founder of N&S GAIA alogwith Sidharth Sinha. Know about their Summer Resort Presentation at Lakme India Fashion Week here.

P.S When mixing patterns-

1. Try mixing patterns from the same colour family or trying out monotones. Using hues from one main colour when mixing patterns can create a very subtle look.
2. Use textures as solid
Some patterns are small enough and understated that the eye can view them as a solid, even though they are really not.
3. Look for patterns that compliment each other in colours, size , type etc.
4. Avoid head-to-toe in one pattern.
5. Space out the patterns
There is no need to wear a patterned shirt with a patterned tie or jacket.
6. Experiment with combination of patterns in different densities/sizes.

Street Style Diaries Mumbai- Rustam Chauhan

Monday 9 June 2014

I saw Rustam at an event a while ago and as usual he was well turned out in his cool casuals, his groomed full mo-beard and vintage shaped specs.

Normally military fatigues are hard to combine with casual plaids but Rustam's pairing is an exception and it totally works.

He wears this plaid shirt buttoned down and sleeves folded up, in powdered pastel shades of blues and reds, touted to be in the color palette for the coming season with an almost black overdyed military fatigue patterned pair of fitted trousers with interesting seam details. The lace-up boat shoes in brown suede and florescent green add a dash of color to his ensemble.

Street Style Diaries Mumbai- Shyama Shetty

Friday 6 June 2014

This edgy-sporty-casual and I-mean-business gal I spotted turned out to be Shyama Shetty, the designer behind the label Huemn along with Pranav Mishra. The Simplicity and practicality of this look holds the onlookers gaze, a strong trend and gaining popularity with every passing season is the SPORTS LUXE look.

http://aquaintperspective.blogspot.com/, Shyama Shetty Sport Luxe

Shyama Shetty

This luxury sports look is being shown on the runways by increasing number of designers and even couturiers across the world. Armani, Prada, Givenchy, Philip Lim, Jeremey Scott and Stella McCartney have done it quite well over the past few seasons.

http://aquaintperspective.blogspot.com/, Shyama Shetty in Round gold rim sunglasses

Shyama Shetty

Shyama gives a great example for us women to rock Sports-luxe. She keeps the palette predominantly black with the accents of red white a gold yellow(in her sneakers).

She wears a black knee length dress with 3/4 sleeves and a sequined block in black with No.8. The choice of fabric is quite unusual and adds to the Luxe factor. She pairs it with black leggings hi-top sneakers in black and so-hot-now John Lennon or our own Gandhiji inspired sunglasses with a round gold frame. Do you remember the dress Tom Ford did for last fall in his spirit?

PS: The key to rock this Sports Luxe look is to keep the palette and silhouette simple and practical. Stick to neutral colors with much desired accents of a blue, red, white or any other color in limitation.
